I want to highlight a really awesome video of Richard Feynman discussing how computers work from 1985. If you don’t already know, Richard Feynman is a renowned physicist and 1965 Nobel prize winner in physics. Having watched the video he does an amazing job describing how computers work, speaking about how they file information, to how they handle data and to how they process and solve problems much faster than humans. It’s a wonderful presentation and I highly recommend people watch it. After reading Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman! (Adventures of a Curious Character) I can definitely say he is one of the most intelligent, fascinating and interesting scientific minds of the twentieth century and this presentation of how computers work is quite elucidating.
